About the house

Our electricity is generated by a wind turbine and photovoltaic panels and all hot water is collected through solar vacuum tubes on the roof.

Rainwater is collected in a underground tank. Our drinking water is filtered by a reverse-osmosis system making it purer than mineral water without the wastage of plastic bottles.

We use only natural household cleaners and laundry detergent. Our bed linen and towels are pure cotton and sustainably sourced.

A weather station on the roof records wind direction, wind speed, humidity, temperature and gives an approximate forecast of weather on the way. This information is relayed to a small monitor in the main house and later transferred to computer.

What an amazingly picturesque location .......a veritable hideaway from the elevated pace of city living and all set within an architecturally elegant setting.

The setting is gorgeous - completely cut off if you need a day relaxing, but close to small towns and the city, Chania, if you need a day trip. Stunning house.

Home away from home, ideal for families, having spent a week there with my 3 y/o I wouldn't stay any where else in Crete! Absolutely amazing!
